Are You An Emotional Eater?
27 Nov
Are you an emotional eater? Emotional eating occurs when we eat – usually large quantities of foods or “junk” or “comfort” foods – in response to particular feelings instead of in response to physical hunger. Feelings or states that are common triggers for emotional eating include depression, boredom, loneliness, anger, anxiety, frustration, stress and poor self-esteem.
Perhaps you associate food with rewarding yourself for an accomplishment or doing something well. Sometimes reaching for certain foods becomes an automatic response when we don’t feel good about ourselves.
