Earth Hour

Earth Hour first took place in Sydney, Australia in 2007 when 2.2 million homes and businesses turned off their lights for one hour, as a symbolic stand against climate change. The following year the movement went global. Hundreds of millions of people took part last year, including over 4000 cities and 88 countries who simultaneously shut off their lights. Earth Hour is the world’s largest global climate change initiative.

It is a call

  • to stand up,
  • to take responsibility,
  • to get involved and
  • lead the way towards a sustainable future.
